Who we have helped
Jacob had spent a long time at the Animal Service Center
waiting for someone to adopt him when ASFstepped in
to give him a break with heartworm treatments at Animal
Aid. an additional boost was for ASF to send Jacob to
recover at Mike's Dog House where he found his forever
home.

Capital City Bank Grant
Foundation
The view just got a little
better for the homeless felines at the Tallahassee Animal
Service Center. Thanks to a $1,500 grant from the Capital
City Bank Foundation to ASF, new shelves will be installed
in 15 of the facility’s cat kennels. The stainless
steel shelves provide extra “real estate”
for the cats, allowing them to stretch out on the ledge
and watch the shelter happenings from a higher vantage
point. “We want to make it as comfortable as possible
for animals during their time at the shelter,”
said ASF Secretary Melissa Jaacks who prepared the grant
application.
On
Jan. 26, Capital City Bank Assistant Vice- President
Karol Schneider and Banking Officer Pamela Schilling
presented the grant award to ASF Board members and toured
the Animal Service Center. The shelving was installed
in mid-February. The Capital City Bank Foundation has
funded special projects and community needs since 1983.

Moore Consulting Group Grant
ASF
recently selected ASF for their 11 in 2011 program,
a component of the company’s pro bono community
outreach efforts. Over 100 organizations applied
for this opportunity to capitalize on the
marketing, branding, and social media knowledge
base of one of the nation’s top public relations
firms.
Over
the next year, ASF will gain a number of invaluable
skills as they work with senior-level consultants
in a series of complimentary sessions.
The
shelter is always in need of donated items to
help care for the shelter animals. Gathering
donations is a great school volunteer project
too!
