The Doggie Manners Class is an 8-week
course to teach basic commands to your new pet. Please
note that the class is available only to shelter adopters.
During each course, the classes are held every Thursday
at 6:15 p.m. at the Animal Service Center (Animal
Shelter) on Easterwood Drrive.
The classes address how to communicate
with your dog and helps with behavior problems, such
as leash-pulling and jumping on people, as well as
teaching basic commands. The purpose is to enable
you to better understand your dogs and your dog’s
actions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
The class costs $35 per dog for the entire 8 week
course. Financial assistance is also available. You
may pay
online through PayPal or make other arrangements
with Kathy Pennington at 850-459-8297. If you pay

How do I register?
You may register
online or call Kathy Pennington at 850-459-8297
to register for the class.
How are the classes structured?
Depending on the size of the group and the age of
the dogs, the class is split into two groups. The
younger/inexperienced dog group will learn about crate
training, house-breaking, and early development. The
older group focuses on issues such as fear, barking,
and aggression. Both groups are taught basic commands
and address behavior problems.
What happens in the class?
Each class is structured around the dogs registered
for that class, so each course will vary. The first
class in each course is an information session about
the trainers, how they train, and how dogs communicate.
Classes 2-8 teach the basic commands as well as address
any issues or questions that arise.
